Emax Veneers Wax to Ceramic Revolution
Blending Tradition and Innovation: A Stunning Smile Delivered by IsoLab Ltd
At IsoLab Ltd, we’re passionate about combining the best of both worlds—merging the precision of digital technology with the artistry of traditional craftsmanship. A recent case that came to us digitally through the iTero system perfectly showcases the power of this hybrid approach.
This case was a joy to work on, and it began in the digital realm. The patient’s scans arrived via iTero, giving us an ultra-accurate digital impression to begin our design work. From there, our team moved into exocad, where we designed the case with meticulous attention to form, function, and esthetics.
Once the digital design was complete, we transitioned into the analog world—milling the wax to ensure precision, then applying a 0.4 mm cut-back to allow room for the next stage: the layering of pressed E.max ceramic. This is where tradition took over.
Using the lost wax technique, we pressed the restorations in E.max for strength, beauty, and translucency. The cut-back allowed us to build in subtle characterizations by hand, ensuring the restorations would blend seamlessly with the patient’s natural dentition. The final touch was our hand-refinement, adding texture, luster, and lifelike detail that only a skilled technician can achieve.
This case exemplifies what we strive for every day at IsoLab Ltd—harnessing cutting-edge digital technology while honoring the irreplaceable value of hands-on artistry. The result? A restoration that is not only functional and long-lasting, but visually stunning and indistinguishable from nature.
We’re proud to be part of a profession that bridges science and art, and we’re even prouder to contribute to life-changing outcomes for patients.
